The United States Revolution

1775-1783

The American Revolution is not truly as revolutionary as what we have been taught to believe. It was founded in Enlightenment thought, and did establish the United States as a sovereign nation, but it didn't really do anything for the newly American people. It was more of a war for independence than a revolutionary war as after they won they reverted to a government and constitution based on that of Britains, and made no huge changes that would classify it as Revolutionary.
